Try a Kids Lesson

This lesson is fully guided and suitable for beginning readers to practice word fluency with short vowels ranging from CVC to CCVCC words. It focusses on word work and accurate letter-sound correspondence

Yr 1 Beginners

Your child has started learning the letter sounds and they know 50% of these (12+ letter sounds), however something is not clicking, they are just 'not getting' how to build words and how to read them. Focusses on accuracy and phonological skills

Yr 1 Mid Year

Your child knows 80% of the alphabet sounds but doesn't consistently spell CVC words correctly. They need explicit teaching in short vowel sounds with a mixture of alphabet letters / sounds. Focusses on accuracy and phonemic skills

Yr 1 End (blends)

Your child is stuck at the CVC level and struggles to blend sounds in words with four or five sounds.
Accuracy with blending sounds for reading and writing is an essential step into being confident with using longer words.

Kid World Readers is a structured literacy on-demand homeschool reading programme. We coach parents and teach young children the essential skills of learning how to read and write successfully.

The sequential video programme and resources use explicit, systematic teaching that does all the heavy lifting of teaching for parents, who are supporting their child with learning how to read at home.

Kate has expertly and carefully designed these on-demand video lessons for parents and young beginning readers, using evidenced based literacy practices.

Each lesson develops both reading and writing skills by applying language skills, phonological skills, phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency and comprehension. The essential skills that all children must learn for reading and writing success!
