The Reading Roadmap for Parents
 is for you if...

✓  You're homeschooling and spending more time searching for resources than actually teaching and you're exhausted by it

✓  You want to be involved in your child's reading journey but you're not sure you're doing it right

You've tried free worksheets, apps, and YouTube videos but nothing is sticking and you don't know why

✓  You just want someone qualified to hand you the plan and tell you exactly what to do step by step

✓  You chose homeschool for connection and freedom, not to feel overwhelmed every morning

✓
English is your second language: You want to support your child's reading at home but it's different to how you learnt

Your child is behind in reading, or has been diagnosed with dyslexia or dysgraphia

You don't need a teaching background. You just need the right roadmap.

Meet Kate

Hi, I'm Kate!

I've spent 25+ years teaching our amazing little ones the foundational skills for reading success, including turning struggling readers into confident, happy kids. Not through guesswork, through the right strategies, taught in the right order, with dedication to learning and understanding exactly how young children learn to read.

What I know after all these years in classrooms, specialist roles and training other teachers is this: most children who struggle to read aren't behind because of a learning difficulty. They're behind because nobody has shown them or their parents, the right science backed roadmap.

That's exactly what I've built for you here. Every strategy inside The Reading Roadmap for Parents is the same approach I use in my own teaching, specialist level knowledge, translated into clear, practical steps you can follow at home. No teaching degree required. No hours of searching. Just a clear path forward. Because I truly believe this: when you feel confident with the right approach to teaching your child to read, your child will feel confident learning.

What parents say about learning from Kate

Kate has been a real answer to prayer for our family. I was very excited to homeschool our children but in the world of learning to read and write, I was very overwhelmed and honestly didn’t know where to start. I had heard and seen some of Kate’s resources and lessons through friends and I was very impressed. The program has been easy for me to follow and implement throughout our week; fitting in well with a busy homeschool schedule. We are very grateful to Kate and her experience in the early reading and writing field. Thank you, Kate

Hannah
We were so lucky to have found Kate when Miles was still young, otherwise I cant imagine how much struggle we would have had with his reading and writing. His spelling and writing have improved after your lessons and now he is in the extension group.
Cindy
If your gut feel is that is that your child is struggling with reading, or it's not quite coming together, I highly recommend seeking Kate's guidance and homeschool reading programme when your child is learning to read and write. Thanks to her support over the last five terms, our son has made rapid progress and there is no greater joy than seeing him curled up in bed, reading books on his own.

Kate's job
The Reading Roadmap teaches parents

Research is clear on this: children learn to read best when the teaching is explicit, sequential, and followed by repeated playful practice. Kate's lessons give you the explicit teaching, the what and why. The toolkit activities give your child the practice and the repetition that makes new skills automatic. And because you're the one playing those games with your child, you also build the connection that makes learning feel safe.

The fun part with follow up activities

  • Teach letter sounds and word recognition the way that actually works: using the same methods Kate uses in specialist teaching sessions, translated into simple language any parent can follow
  • Choose resources that actually work: and stop wasting time and money on activities that look good but don't move your child forward
  • Begin every reading lesson feeling prepped and calm: because you finally have a clear roadmap, not a pile of half done free resources
  • Support your child's reading confidently, even if English is your second language: Kate explains every strategy in clear, simple steps

Imagine your mornings six weeks from now.

You sit down with your child for their reading lesson. You know exactly what to teach. You know what to say. You know what to do if they get stuck. The lesson takes 20 minutes and it works. Your child feels the progress. You feel the confidence. And instead of dreading the next session, they ask when it's happening again. That's what having the right roadmap actually looks like.
