Frequently asked questions
Do I need a credit card for the free trial?
No. The free trial requires no payment details at all. You'll only need to add payment information if you choose to continue with a paid plan after your trial.
What currency will I be charged in?
All prices are in USD. Your bank or card provider converts this to your local currency at the time of payment. NZD and AUD figures on this page are approximate and may vary slightly with exchange rates.
Can I cancel my subscription anytime?
Yes. Monthly subscriptions can be cancelled anytime with no penalty and you'll keep access until the end of your current billing period. Annual memberships (13month access) are a single upfront payment for the full year and aren't refunded part-way through, but there's no further commitment beyond that.
Is there a discount for paying annually?
Yes. The annual membership saves you significantly compared to paying monthly across the same period, see full details are shown above. It's the best value option for families planning to use the programme for the full year learning journey. (13month access)
Can I switch between monthly and annual later?
Yes, if you start on the monthly plan and decide to switch to annual, email Kate and she'll help you make the change. There's no penalty for upgrading.
Does the subscription cover more than one child?
Each membership is for one child's learning profile, so their progress and dashboard tracking stay accurate. If you have more than one child you'd like to enrol, contact Kate about family pricing.
What happens if my child finishes Foundation 1 and 2 before my membership ends?
Wonderful news! Many families revisit lessons for extra practice and fluency, and your membership includes any new content added to your purchased bundle during your active period. Email Kate for guidance on what comes next for an advanced reader.
Are worksheets and printable activities included?
Yes, each lesson and set of learning, comes with supporting worksheets and printable follow-up activities so you can reinforce what your child has just learned. Kate recommends 3 learning videos per week, one lesson per day only, along with the follow up games and activities 2 days per week. This gives you a full week of learning. This balance is important as it is how your child builds mastery in reading and writing.
What if my child needs a different starting point than I expected?
That's exactly what the free trial is for. Many families discover their child needs a different level than they assumed and that's valuable information, not a problem. The Foundation 1 and Foundation 2 programme covers a wide range of skill for Year 1 learning, you will be able to start at the right point for your child. Email Kate or book in for a free call anytime for guidance on the right starting point.
Is this only for homeschool families?
No. Kid World Readers is used by homeschool families, school-attending families wanting extra support, and international families. Wherever your child needs help learning to read, the programme works for your situation.
Do I need to purchase The Reading Roadmap (parent masterclass) separately?

If you're on the monthly plan, you can add it as a standalone purchase for $199, it includes all parent education masterclass modules, the full Parent Handbook, printable games and activities, and Parent Membership with live coaching access.
Why does VIP tutoring require an annual membership?
Kate's 1:1 sessions reference your child's progress directly within the programme, so the tutoring and the daily lessons work together. The annual membership ensures every VIP family gets the most value from both.
When do VIP cohorts open?
VIP tutoring opens in small cohorts a few times a year. Join the waitlist or (email Kate directly) on this page and you'll be notified as soon as the next cohort opens for enrolment.
